Who we’re looking for:
RoadSync is looking for a Head of Engineering to join our fast-growing team. As the Engineering leader, you will be responsible for the holistic well-being and productivity of RoadSync’s engineering team and attracting top talent to continue growing our engineering capabilities.
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience leading engineering teams and establishing processes that enable collaboration with team members and customers to deliver the best possible product. We believe that supporting engineers and their continued growth is critical to building a team that works together to achieve common goals. We are looking for people who share this vision, excel at empathizing with their teammates, and have strong problem-solving skills.
What you’ll do:
- Work with the COO and CEO to further develop the technical and product strategy for the security and scalability of our solutions
- Build and refine KPI’s to improve measurement and forecasting of team performance
- Recruit, retain and grow the software engineering team
- Enable and motivate your team by removing obstacles and providing resources and
mentorship
- Establish people development processes to increase the effectiveness of all team
members
- Develop a test-driven mindset with ownership and accountability
- Evaluate processes within the Customer Success, Customer Support, Product and
Engineering teams to find opportunities for automation to reduce manual effort
- Evolve our Agile software development methodology
What we’re looking for:
- 10+ years of software development and architecture experience
- 3+ years as a VP of Engineering for a SaaS company
- Previous experience as a software engineer with broad knowledge of programming
languages, software architecture, design and database systems
- Passionate about building quality software solutions
- Managed a development team using Agile methodologies
- Familiarity with AWS/React/GoLang or other modern languages
- History of overseeing environments with data governance, data protection, security,
encryption, backup and DR requirements
- Experience managing on and offshore teams
- Proven track record of attracting and retaining top technical talent
- Hands-on manager (technology and architecture discussions)
- Comfortable leading and being a part of a fast growing and changing organization
- Highly organized and self-motivated with a high level of initiative.
