FIS’ Post Trade Services (PTS) aligns with Capital Markets and provides customers with industry-leading software and services to support their cleared derivatives operations of listed and cleared OTC derivatives, covering more than 135 cleared derivatives markets in over 35 countries. The range of services includes supplying software, providing software and hosting services or providing software, hosting services and operations services to process customer clearing business. The Managed Service Platform Change (MSPC) team in PTS is responsible for ensuring hosted customer environments are compliant will all non-discretionary change (mandatory change, regulatory change and FIS / PTS software & hardware policies) and for delivering customer requested change to customers subscribed to an Enhanced Service Model.
What you will be doing
This role is to lead the Change Delivery team within the FIS Post-Trade Services (PTS), Managed Service Platform Change (MSPC) organisation. It is a globally distributed team of over 40 experienced project managers and business analysts who deliver change to PTS managed services customers in partnership with other teams within PTS. There will always be many active projects varying in size from small ones measured in days of work delivering enhancements to existing platforms to large projects implementing strategic platforms. This is a customer facing role and will require significant interaction with senior people at the biggest PTS clients.
The individual will partner with the other members of the MSPC leadership team, and with senior leader of other PTS business functions to drive the development of a rigorously planned program of change that aligns to the strategic direction for the business in meeting its commercial targets and objectives. The individual will own the development of the Change Delivery organization and leadership team to drive a culture of change management excellence in PTS. This position has a significant part to play in the growth of the PTS business through robust planning and exemplary execution of a large-scale transformation agenda. A demonstrable track-record of this is critical.
Candidates must also demonstrate an ability and a track record in establishing the right culture, team, skills and tools to enable the Change Delivery organization to deliver to a complex multi-faceted change agenda.
Primary Responsibilities:
Day to Day Change Delivery leadership: Manage and oversee the day-to-day change delivery activities across the global MSPC locations. Develop the appropriate resourcing plans for the function in line with the business goals and objectives. Enforce best practice and consistent project delivery with appropriate risk management in line with contractual commitments and goals.
Change Management Excellence: Implement practical standard project lifecycle, methodology, governance and PMO structures to be used universally on MSPC change. Develop and deliver appropriate management information to manage business change and contractual commitments
Risk Management Framework: Ensure appropriate risk management practices are implemented globally and consistently in the Change Delivery function. Drive best practices across business areas and regions to ensure consistency and adherence to policies and procedures in support of change activities. Ensure legal and compliance risks are appropriately managed in the Change Delivery function
People Management: Develop an appropriately experienced management team in every region. Deliver a strategy for talent sourcing in each location (Graduate, Experienced Hire, Vendor sourced). Develop retention strategies for Change Delivery. Ensure appropriate training plans are in place for the business unit to manage risk and deliver change and project management appropriately. Set well-defined, measurable objectives for team members and continuously evaluate performance against objectives.
Customer Relationship Management: Manage senior level client relationships as a trusted advisor on their change. Be able to discuss “big picture” medium term initiatives and the details of currently active projects. Be comfortable in the “big picture” and in the detail
This position will be based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Jersey City, New Jersey or London, UK and will report to the head of the Managed Service Platform Change group, who is based in London.
Job Description
Manage a portfolio of projects to successful delivery
Ensure strong and effective governance is established across all projects both within PTS and with the customer
Ensure projects are initiated, managed and closed following good project management practices, including
Review and approve project plans, estimates and budget requirements
Drive proactive management and resolution/mitigation of issues and risks
Actively manage dependencies with other work
Lead resource forecast generation and discussions with an aim to optimize usage of resources across projects
Drive post-implementation benefits realization
Represent PTS on project steering committees, both internal and external, facing off against project sponsors. Ensure timely, accurate and effective communication with project teams, clients, senior management and other stakeholders in these forums and throughout the engagement.
Reinforce the use of project management standards, including a standardized methodology, processes and tools for effective project management
Manage project policies, procedures, templates and other shared documentation
Monitor compliance with project management standards, policies and procedures
Coach, mentor and train junior project managers in how to increase their effectiveness
What you bring:
Overall 15+ years relevant experience
10+ years’ experience on Financial Services Program Delivery
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience and proven delivery track record of working as a global Program Manager in a fast-paced, multi-project environment with senior management face-offs and responsibility for resource management and project financials
Strong commercial acumen and demonstrable ability to manage a specialist business unit to commercially driven objectives
Ability to design and deliver an appropriate project management framework for delivery of a unique multi-faceted change program
Knowledge of program/project management methodologies with in-depth knowledge of at least one methodology
Demonstrable ability to build, manage & retain strong Change Delivery teams on a global basis
Outstanding communication skills in a variety of written and verbal formats to different levels of seniority internally; external individuals, organisations and agencies.
Strong client presentation skills
Fostering an open environment with constructive problem-solving and proactive issue and risk management
In depth functional understanding of exchange traded derivatives and cleared OTC derivatives business processes and trade flows
Experience of working with technology platforms used in derivatives middle and back office processing
Self-motivated and highly driven individual
