Executive Director

The Crooked Road seeks an Executive Director to be a creative place-maker, executive and leader to bring a spirit of excitement, sparking our mission of economic development through traditional music and tourism initiatives. The ideal candidate will build consensus, deftly fundraise and reliably manage finances and people, working with local governments, tourism agencies, musicians and funders to boost the creative economy over a 330-mile physical trail and 19-county region through heritage and natural resources.

This position develops and executes a strategic vision for growth of heritage-related assets and enterprises as directed by The Crooked Road Board of Directors, structuring and leading a small staff to direct traditional music presentation and education. Support eight major venues, affiliated venues and hundreds of traditional musicians by developing performance opportunities, festival events and tours.

Create media opportunities, social media and Internet engagement and local support for Crooked Road initiatives.

The board will give preference to candidates who have experience administering and fundraising for arts organizations and non-profits, but are open to candidates with a variety of experiences.
