George Fox University announces an immediate opening for a full-time, 10-month, Director of Commuter Life & Title IX Programming position in the Student Life office. This highly relational, student focused, and results oriented leader is responsible to provide programming, support, and intentional connections for undergraduate commuter students. This role also facilitates Title IX programming, planning, and prevention.

Essential Responsibilities
Commuter Life
- Develop services that foster a sense of belonging and engagement where commuters are known and supported.
- Create and execute communications aimed at connecting commuter students with appropriate resources and engaging them in campus life. Develop intentional communication channels for commuters through an active online web and social media presence.
- Design, implement, and evaluate a variety of educational, social, cultural, and recreational programs for commuter students.
- Serve as the primary supervisor for the Commuter Assistant student leadership team. Provide leadership to the group including training and development.
- Create and develop a Commuter Collegium; including budget planning, student involvement, and programming.
- Respond to student needs by providing support, care, and resources to commuters who may be struggling academically, spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially, or in any other way that could possibly hinder their student success.
- Serve as primary responder to community accountability conduct incidents with commuter students.
- Provide assistance with crisis management, conflict resolution, and mediation for students as needed.
- Create and assess measurable outcomes for commuter student programs and commuter retention.
Title IX Programming
- Work collaboratively with Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Coordinators in all aspects of fulfilling Title IX duties.
- Plan and execute a yearly calendar of education and awareness.
- Serve as one of the Title IX investigators.
- Network with Newberg Police Department, Crime Victims Advocates, Oregon Sexual Assault Task Force and other external constituents to aid students in reporting and receiving support services.
- Assist in communicating with the campus community regarding the Title IX process including Student Leaders, Faculty, Staff, and others.
- Assist in leading trainings with student leaders, faculty, and staff.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the university’s mission as described in the Statement of Faith and Community Lifestyle Statement on our website.
- Master’s degree in College Student Affairs or a related field is preferred. Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of three years professional experience in a student life setting or ability to demonstrate transferable skills from previous employment.
- A commitment to working with a diverse population of people is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
- Ability to challenge, support, mentor, interact with and relate to college students.
- Possess these strengths: communication, honesty, integrity, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and administrative skills, dependability, initiative self-starter, flexibility, remaining calm in high pressure situations, forward thinking, envisioning big picture and detail oriented.
- Availability and willingness to work some evening and weekends.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Must have permanent and unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
