Job Description
The Director | Acquisitions assists in all stages of the multifamily investment and portfolio management process: from deal sourcing to brokerage engagement, market research, pro forma underwriting, debt structuring, and bidding strategy. The positionâs primary focus will be the sourcing, underwriting and acquisition of multifamily investment opportunities. Intermediate to frequent travel should be expected. They will identify and recommend feasible investment opportunities by interfacing with the brokerage community, researching property, demographic and other pertinent information within target markets. Responsibilities will also include, monitoring the deal pipeline, conducting the underwriting process, leading site visits and market research, and analysis and forecasting. Heavy travel.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5-8 yearsâ experience in multifamily real estate investment analysis
- Excellent computer skills, including but not limited to exceptional ability with Excel spreadsheets
- Ability to create financial models, particularly within Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read, understand and abstract complex commercial real estate documents
- Must be highly resourceful and possess the ability to research and identify sub markets with compelling investment dynamics
- Strong presentation, negotiation and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines and set priorities for workload
- Ability to evaluate and manage a number of projects and transactions simultaneously
- Demonstrates initiative and willingness to assume additional responsibilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and maintain a cooperative, productive atmosphere
- Must be adaptable and able to travel with little notice
