    Summary

    This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a BASE SERVICES MANAGER, Position Description Number D2042000 and is part of the SC 169 FSS, Air National Guard.

    Responsibilities

    This position is located at an Air National Guard Flying Wing, Mission Support Group, within the Force Support Squadron. The primary purpose of the position is to evaluate, plan, organize, and direct Base Services functions in support of federal, state, and local missions. The incumbent serves as supervisor and primary point-of-contact for Services-related programs, missions, functions, activities, and events for the wing.

    Qualifications

    THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO AREAS OF CONSIDERATION (AOC) 1-3.

    AOC DEFINITIONS:
    Area 1: Current permanent employees of the South Carolina Air National Guard. (Note-Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and will not qualify for this AOC)
    Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Air National Guard.
    Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Air National Guard.

    Min/Max Military Grades: MSgt/E-7/SMSgt/E-8

    Compatible Military Assignments: 3F1X1

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To be rated qualified for this position your resume must show definitively at least 36 months experience in the following- Managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to Base Services or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

    MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Military skill set is determined by AFSC requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC.

    Applicants who are not currently a member of the SC Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the SC Air National Guard in the military grade(s) listed in this announcement.

    Education

    Completion of courses such as the Officer Advanced Course, Squadron Officer School, Command and Staff College, Air and Army War College, National Security Management Course and others of comparable level will be credited at the rate of 1 month of education for two months of specialized experience.

    You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
