GDIT is seeking an Associate Project Manager to provide leadership and task order management of multiple projects/task orders within our Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP). The project manager will manage the day-to-day execution of project tasks and activities of this diverse multi-task order IDIQ contract. GDIT manages the process of scientific peer review of research applications submitted to the CDMRP, who supports research projects within a diverse range of high impact areas of public health (e.g. breast cancer, prostate cancer, ovarian cancer, neurofibromatosis and autism) and the military health (e.g., Gulf War Illness, psychological health/traumatic brain injury).

In this role, you will work across multiple public health research initiatives, all in support of various programs for CDMRP. You will collaborate with a diverse team made up of administrative, scientific and technical staff and directly manage a team of 5-7 operational project support staff. To be successful in this role you should bring strong management, organizational, written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritize various tasks and deadlines. Specific responsibilities are outlined below:

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS, 2-5 years of task management or supervisory experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans, organizes, and manages several task orders/projects for successful performance consistent with contractual agreements. Manages a team of 5-7 operational staff. Acquires follow-on business associated with assigned projects and supports new business development by leading or assisting with proposals. Specific responsibilities are outlined below:

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with the government program representatives to ensure timely and successful implementation of the task order performance work statements;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including scientific and technical staff to ensure project deliverables and activities are successfully executed;
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans;
  • In collaboration with program staff, identify project risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans and strategies;
  • Provide leadership in outlining, documenting, and implementing process improvement efforts;
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary;
  • Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project;
  • Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization;
  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables;
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members;
  • Measure, track, and monitor overall contract performance including timeliness of deliverables and adherence to the quality assurance surveillance plan.
