Assistant Director

Job Summary:

Assists and supports Director in all aspects of management of the center, including customer relations, regulatory compliance, curriculum planning, human resources and marketing.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of professional child care experience and child development training
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate’s degree or higher required; Bachelor’s degree or higher favorable
• CDA certification preferred
• Must be passionate about child care, a team builder, organized and creative; must possess excellent interpersonal skills

• Flexible and energetic
• Ability to juggle multiple duties
• Detail oriented with the ability to plan and organize
• Ability to resolve conflicts
• Computer proficient including Word, Excel and ability to learn other programs quickly
• Past professional child care experience in Louisiana strongly desiredResponsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assists in the management of the academy to ensure safe, healthy and effective operation and fulfillment of Southside’s mission statement
• Assumes full responsibility for academy management in director’s absence
• Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws, as well as all of Southside’s policies and procedures
• Planning, guiding teachers on and implementing the curriculum
• Providing love and quality care for the children throughout the day in order to meet their cognitive, emotional, mental, physical and social needs
• Planning and executing indoor and outdoor experiences appropriate to the developmental levels of the children
• Interacting with children both physically and verbally throughout the day
• Meet with parents, staff and administration
• Assist with growing the enrollment of the program, which may include conducting guided tours and assisting with marketing efforts
• Attend in-service and staff development training programs
• Familiarity with state licensing requirements and Louisiana Department of Education policies

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $12.00 to $16.00 /hour
