Vice President, Technology & Innovation
The Vice President, Technology and Innovation (VPTI) is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company. The VPTI works with all groups in the organization to grow the company through the strategic use of technological resources. Using an active and practical, hands-on approach, the VPTI will direct all employees in Software Development, IT, and Operations to attain the company’s strategic goals and mission. This multi-faceted role requires an agile, servant leader with a strong background in managing both people and processes through the challenges of a fast-growing organization.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Establishes the company’s technical vision and leads all aspects of the company’s technical portfolio.
- Leads the Software Development group to improve processes, documentation, and timeliness of releases and updates.
- Improves existing software programs and develops new applications to meet future business needs.
- Manages the company’s technology equipment and services, ensuring compliance with client and government agencies, while integrating new technologies to enhance the company’s effectiveness.
- Works hand-in-hand with IT vendor and remote data centers safeguarding the company’s data and technology assets and providing appropriate-level redundancy and accountability.
- Conducts research and case studies on leading-edge technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation. Prepares and maintains technical specifications and related documentation to secure procedures and prevent system failure. Responsible for the company’s disaster recovery plan and system security plans and compliance.
- Researches and makes recommendations on hardware and software purchases. Negotiates with vendors on behalf of the company to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Manages the company’s technology expenses effectively.
- Close-up, daily management of operations and production teams (on-shore and off-shore) and activities. Ensures that data transfers are successfully completed on time, and that exception reports are addressed and resolved expeditiously and within SLA requirements.
- Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads, such as Product Management, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Sales & Marketing, as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide leadership to department heads in a fashion that supports the company’s culture, mission, and values.

Qualifications and Qualities:
- Six or more years of Healthcare Information Systems is required, with in-depth knowledge of Medicare Advantage preferred
- Must be an exceptional planner who is highly organized with attention to detail, self-directed, efficient and able to manage complex programs on time
- Experience delivering to a strategy via incremental releases with a blend of business and technical knowledge
- Experience leading a software development team, both in Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Experience in developing and implementing business processes
- Knowledge of risk assessment process and a capability to execute remediation plans
- Ability to make decisions quickly and communicate effectively is essential
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional virtual teams to deliver on key program objectives and understand the impact to various stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or Health Administration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey the appropriate level of information concisely given subject and audience. Communicate equally well with technical and non-technical personnel
- Advanced user of MS Word, Excel, Visio, MS Project, Salesforce and Jira (Atlassian)
- Ability to operate with minimal supervision and direction, and drive process using indirect authority
- Demonstrated skills in building effective relationships and influencing at all levels across the enterprise
- Self-starter who can demonstrate creativity given that little or no precedents may exist
- An innovative problem-solver who guides teams to new ways to solve problems
This position is a full-time role based out of the company’s Orange County office. Out of area candidates are welcome to apply if willing to relocate within 60 days of offer.
