The Vail Resorts Finance Team is committed to Building Leaders and Driving Value. We are creating a new fully centralized Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in our corporate headquarters near Boulder, Colorado, to support a growing company of 37 resorts across Australia, Canada and the United States, 55,000+ employees, and a market capitalization of over $9 billion. The Vice President of Divisional FP&A will develop a comprehensive, strategic view of our financial results and performance across each of our divisions to drive strategic decision-making, growth objectives, strategic planning and capital prioritization in partnership with the CFO and C-Level executives overseeing each of the company’s divisions and corporate functions.
This leader will report directly to the CFO and will be a member of the Finance senior leadership team. The Vice President will lead a team of over 100 finance professionals with six senior level direct reports overseeing FP&A for each of our three Mountain regions, Lodging and Real Estate, Retail and Rental, and SG&A. The Vice President will use financial acumen, strategic synthesis and data driven insights to advise senior executives. The role is intended for candidates who have the potential to be a successor to the CFO.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver enterprise-level financial insight and commentary based on comprehensive view of Vail Resorts’ results.
- Lead the financial planning process that focuses on value creation and aligning resources with strategic priorities.
- Conduct executive-level synthesis and communication of results to drive decision-making with divisional and operational leaders.
- Provide thought leadership and guidance to drive strategic business initiatives.
- Create a high performing team and culture focused on value creation, delivering results, stakeholder influence and leadership development for career progression.
- Support the creation of an effective FP&A team culture including partnership with peers.
- Play a critical role on the CFO’s leadership team, bringing an enterprise-level perspective to support the strategic, talent and process improvement efforts in the Finance organization.

Lead FPA& functions:
- Conduct operational analyses that drive performance and decision-making.
- Develop annual operating budget.
- Perform monthly financial analysis and forecasting for enterprise-level leaders.
- Deliver executive-level presentations for Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
- Actively contribute to capital prioritization, ROI analysis, approvals and decision making.
- Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans.
- Lead long-term strategic planning.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Outstanding academic credentials; Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, graduate finance degree and/or CFA strongly preferred.
- 15+ years’ experience in financial planning and analysis, with demonstrated success in financial modeling, analysis and budgeting.
- Experience leading all financial planning and analysis functions including annual operational budgeting, capital budgeting, long-term strategic planning and resource allocation processes.
- Strong understanding of both corporate and operational finance with an orientation to value creation and core business drivers.
- Outstanding analytical skills with ability to synthesize information, develop insights and communicate effectively in presentations and in-person meetings.
- Deep curiosity and passion for understanding and analyzing financial results in the context of creating shareholder value.
- Excellent communication skills with significant experience working with Senior Executives.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with strong initiative and ability to multi-task.
- Superb attention to detail balanced by ability to focus on the “big picture.”
