The Merchandising Operations Team is seeking a Project Manager of Assortment Transition to develop the cross-functional partnerships and technical solutions that are required to optimize product transitions for our customers. Our Merchandising team makes thousands of product changes per year; some we choose and some are chosen for us by our vendors. Either way we owe it to our customers to ensure a smooth transition from old product to new in order to optimize their buying experience. This process starts with proactive identification of products that are coming out of our assortment. Then we determine the best possible go-forward products to suggest to our customers. Lastly, we ensure that our customers are proactively engaged well ahead of time to prepare for the changeover from old to new.
The Project Manager of Assortment Transition will play a pivotal role in the product matching component of the product transition process. They will work closely with Merchants and our technical teams to build and optimize a product matching discipline that is reliable, fast and ensures accurate identification of the right go-forward products. This discipline will require a combination of the right technical solutions, process management and data oversight. This role will be heavily involved in driving these key inputs and will be accountable for major improvements to the legacy systems and processes that we have today.
The right candidate must be a thought leader, a proven process operator and be able to serve as an effective translator between technical development teams and the business.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Product manage Merchant-facing product matching tool
- Manage communication between project participants and set realistic, agreed upon development and execution requirements, deliverables and timelines
- Plan and coordinate the rollout of new tools via training and documentation
- Oversee the gathering and certification of product matches for internal product transitions as well as company mergers/acquisitions
- Maintain product cross reference master files
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Merchants on process particulars
- Continuously improve the process
- Proactively audit the quality of matches provided by automated tools and manual Merchant assignments
- Ensure that product attribute data is being leveraged efficiently to drive matching quality
- Provide product support to acquired companyâs employees post acquisition
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelorâs Degree, preferably in Business
- Proven experience managing complex projects with technical partners and the business
- 4-6 years in a highly analytical, results-driven environment
- Experience working with large, complex data sets
- Comfortable working both independently with minimal supervision and closely in a team setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven skills in developing and writing business requirements for new projects
- Experience managing user training programs for applications
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access knowledge
- Alteryx experience is a plus
