Job Summary
Plan,direct, and coordinate, usually through Foreman and Tool Technician, activities concerned with the tank cleaning and maintenance of tanks, facilities, and systems. Performs and supervises tasks involving physical labor at various locations as assigned by management or its designee.
Qualifications
- Ability to understand bids, plans, specifications, and regulations.
- Minimum physical standards are necessary and will be tested as determined by management on a periodic bases.
- Minimum 2-5 years supervisory experience.
- Ability to be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be decisive and work well under pressure, particularly when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
- Ability to coordinate several major activities at once while analyzing and resolving specific problems.
- Must be familiar with computers and Microsoft Office for job paperwork, online collaboration, time cards, and estimating.
- Good oral and written communication and leadership skills. Must be able to establish a good working relationship with many different people, including owners, other managers, and inspectors, supervisors, and craft workers.
- Must maintain and valid driver’s license and be able to drive an MSI company vehicle.
- Willing to travel extensively – seven weeks per rotation – up to 50 weeks per year.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and report accurately all MSI and third party items needed for the project in logical order, along with the time required to meet deadlines. Ensure that all billable and expense items are controlled, reported accurately and timely to ensure that the crew achieves the company-required minimum profit threshold.
- Confer with administrative staff, contractors, and customer representatives to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and any problems.
- Prepare on an accurate and timely basis (and submit) all job paperwork including, but not limited to confined space permits, daily work tickets, expense reports,third party tickets, bills of lading, employee evaluations, terminations and employee performance notification reports etc…
- Prepare and submit paperwork for in-process calls regarding current project and status.Achieve all company targets for job safety and performance.
- Onsite safety representative. Ensure safety compliance in accordance with legal or, if more stringent, customer requirements amongst all workers on the job site.
- Plan,organize, and direct activities concerned with the tank cleaning project and maintenance of tank, facilities, and systems.
- Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at project sites.
- Inspect and review projects to monitor completion and compliance with MSI and customer safety standards and other regulations.
- Study job specifications to determine appropriate tank cleaning methods.
Education
HighSchool Diploma or equivalent required.
