The project manager role will deliver consistent project management service provision on behalf of our customers, acting as their internal advocate within Arranta Bio, ensuring effective cross-functional project and resource management with the objective of delivering the customerâs requirements on time and in full.
The project manager will work with customers and department heads to execute high quality, integrated cross-functional plans for development and GMP manufacturing programs. In collaboration with customers and internal Arranta Bio functional leaders and subject matter experts , the project manager will drive effective teamwork, execute the agreed program strategy, provide project leadership and facilitate effective and proactive information exchange, identify and resolve/mitigate project related risks and manage timelines. Additionally, the project manager will play a critical role in the resource/financial management and forecasting of individual projects on an ongoing basis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure customer project activities, milestones and deliverables are planned and executed to a high standard
- Management of a portfolio of complex multi-service projects, ensuring a consistent approach by using approved templates and process flows.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to ensure development and execution of project plans, and alignment of project goals.
- Utilize tools and procedures for monitoring and driving project progress, intervention and problem solving within the project team and broader Arranta Bio organization.
- Develop clear full life-cycle project management plans for projects
- Utilize Microsoft Project/Planisware to generate Gantt timelines for projects
- Define project timelines and milestones to project team
- Work with department leads to ensure optimal capacity and project planning
- Facilitate client project meetings throughout project lifecycle, ensuring communication lines are clearly defined using communication plan and contact matrix
- Acts as the primary liaison between the project team and customer
- Manage the scope change related contract maintenance process according to standard template and process flows
- Ensure Planisware, CRM & ERP is current for all projects and scope change requirements are updated by project team members.
- Identify lessons learned and lead close out meetings with customers and project team, where appropriate, ensuring any lessons learned are implemented to improve time, scope, cost and customer satisfaction outcomes on subsequent projects.
- Continuous improvement mindset – proactively seeks out, recommends and implements process improvements
- Maintains accurate tracking of revenue and billing associated with projects and pro-actively participates in weekly on time delivery review meetings
- Facilitates communication across all project stakeholders and engages with a solution-oriented focus
- Facilitates meetings, producing timely minutes and follow up action items
- Creates, manages and tracks Program timelines and other appropriate metrics
- Reviews and reconciles project budgets
Required Experience:
- Ideally good working knowledge of contract biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing services and the pharmaceutical and biotech industries
- Knowledge of the drug development process
- Previous proven experience in a project management role
- Excellent IT skills, particularly MS Office Excel, Word and Project
- Experience of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, etc) desirable
- Experience of using Planisware is preferred
- Commercial & financial acumen and ability to tracks costs/budgets/financial reporting relating to project execution
- Demonstrated proactive and organized approach, able to influence cross-functionally and proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Experience managing customers and associated skills
- Able to communicate and work with all levels of organizations, internally and externally
- Resourceful and able to make sound decisions using when facing ambiguity
- Proven flexibility adapting to a rapidly evolving workload
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Education/Certification Requirements:
- Qualified to degree level, or equivalent, in a related discipline (science, business, etc.)
- >2 years or equivalent related experience managing multi-disciplinary Research & Development project teams
- Project Management Certification; PRINCE 2, PMP or equivalent is desirable, with working knowledge of associated methodologies and principles
