Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for all department functions including:
    • Staffing
    • Training
    • Wrk assignments
    • Excellence f work output
    • Cordination with BU teams
    • Management cmmunications
    • Emplyee morale and effectiveness
    • Understanding and translating internal custmer requirements effectively and efficiently into work assignments
  • Take full responsibility for quality and timeliness of deliverables from Design team
  • Work with engineering and program management teams in prioritizing and aligning deliverables with program milestones
  • Maintain and track program schedule and send periodic reports to engineering and program management teams
  • Take full ownership of deliverables and work with Fremont engineering in getting resolution to open points and escalate to next level engineering management for delays impacting program schedule

Mandatory skills required

  • Skilled in managing interdisciplinary engineering departments, tasks, and projects
  • Excellent leadership skills. Must have managed team of 10-15 mechanical engineers(4-6 yrs experience in managing)
  • 8+ years’ experience with capital equipment or similar (for e.g., chemical process, medical instrumentation, automotive, aircraft, etc.) industry in a product design and engineering
  • Demonstrated leadership skill in decision making and problem solving in absence of complete or accurate data. Experience in situational leadership, conducting appraisal feedback and motivating team in achieving business results.

Desirable Skill:

  • Exposure to Project Management tools and techniques, MS Project and preparation of Gantt charts
  • Ability and skill to drive Engineering excellence/RCCA efforts within the department
  • Ability to work / liaison with 3rd party vendors in evaluating manufacturing feasibility of components and sub-assemblies, preparing engineering cost estimates
  • Passion for developing employees skills and ability and desire to mentor junior personnel
  • Exposure and working knowledge of Team center and NX tools, SAP PLM release process, product structure and configurations
