Client is looking for an experienced VP of Healthcare & Life Sciences Sales to lead targeted sales efforts and develop relationships with new mid-to-large clients with a focus on Healthcare & Life Sciences opportunities. The candidate must be able to communicate Client’s unique capabilities to deliver complex and customized software solutions. Core responsibilities include creating, developing, and winning a portfolio of midsize and enterprise-level client engagements with a focus on Healthcare, Life Sciences, or both.
Responsibilities
- Build strong, long-lasting relationships with mid-to-large enterprise level clients, with a remit across industries and a focus on healthcare
- Plan, implement, and manage sales activities and pipelines to meet annual revenue targets and business goals
- Originate and nurture business relationships resulting in engagement opportunities
- Scope projects, shape engagements, and help define business solutions that best satisfy clients’ needs and achieve their desired business outcomes
- Present Client’s unique value proposition to the top-level executives of clients
- Plan resources, organize and mobilize teams (including solution design, UX, technical, engagement management and delivery teams) throughout the sales lifecycle
- Coordinate with Client’s Healthcare & Life Sciences practice, ensuring adequate industry coverage and opportunity focus
- Collaborate with Client’s engagement managers to ensure maximum client satisfaction and optimized revenue for Client.
- Understand and assist in managing and mitigating key risks through tactical plans and actions
- Evangelize Client’s unique capabilities to deliver complex, leading edge, industry-specific custom software solutions through presentations and discussions, participation at events, speaking engagements, and tradeshows
Required Skills and Experience
- Significant experience working in IT consulting
- Experience selling technology consulting and services
- Industry-specific background that spans across the industry covering multiple large segments (e.g. Healthcare Insurance, Healthcare IT, Clinical Trials, Drug Research, etc.)
- Excellent understanding of the industry, including key players, strategies, client structures, business models, sub-verticals, needs, challenges, and key trends
- A high level of effectiveness in shortening the traditional sales cycle
- Experience and comfortable communicating with potential client firms at all management levels, from “C” level executives, to product management, to IT professionals
- A team player who is also highly self-reliant (self-managed) and self-motivated
- Must have a strong understanding of the software systems and data that are widely used in the industry
- Knowledge of project management processes including scope definition, project plans, resource plans, budgets, and milestone identification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to think, write, and present in a logical, structured, and polished manner
- Possess a demonstrable strategic, creative, and analytical sales approach with a focus on initiating and building client relationships
- Ability to work effectively in a high risk/reward environment
