At a Glance! The Executive Assistant is the President’s right hand! By providing administrative support to the President and the College’s Board of Trustees, the Executive Assistant plays an important role in helping Lower Columbia College achieve our initiatives for student success, and ultimately, improve the quality of life in our community.
The Executive Assistant is responsible for overseeing and coordinating major administrative processes, events, services, as well as budget development and monitoring for the President’s area. The Executive Assistant serves as the center of communication for the office of the President, acts as the office manager, and is responsible for creating and maintaining a welcoming, inclusive environment in the President’s Office.
We are looking for an approachable people-person that is also detail-oriented, self-motivated, and upholds a high standard of integrity. This person must be able to effectively adapt communication styles to interact with diverse groups of people and be excited to contribute to student success at Lower Columbia College. Bonus points for someone who is adept at technology and data management.
The Executive Assistant reports directly to the President. The Executive Assistant is an exempt position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
You will have the opportunity to:
- Provide administrative support to the President and the Board of Trustees
- Prepare materials, agendas, and official minutes for all Board of Trustees meetings, President’s meetings, off campus meetings and retreats, and related follow-up activities, including posting appropriate correspondence to the public & internal college website
- Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, community partners, and the general public
- Manage the President’s calendar and schedule
- Coordinate meetings and schedules with other college departments and outside entities.
- Arrange travel and lodging for the President and other staff as needed
- Develop and manage budgets for the President’s Office
- Attend meetings and events in support of the President or Board of Trustees
- Update and maintain Administrative and Board policies (both written and electronic versions), and coordinate related procedures
- Maintain the Lower Columbia College specific WACs (Washington Administrative Code) rules in accordance with statute
- Coordinate and plan campus events / other special events
- Conduct various research and take on special projects as directed by the President
- Manage web content for various pages of the College website
- Maintain files per the Washington State Records Retention schedule
- Collaborate with other campus departments
- Perform other related duties as required

Typical Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you will need:
- Associate’s degree in relevant field AND three years of experience providing administrative support to senior administration; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Outstanding communication skills including speaking, listening, and writing
- Strong computer skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations with tact and confidentiality
- Highly organized
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Bilingual
- Advanced technology skills
