Very stable for profit organization in the DC metro area is searching for a Director of Human Capital to help grow and sustain talent in a challenging industry. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. This person will be responsible for developing HR strategies and providing sound advice to senior management on all related subjects. An HR Director must be an experienced professional with deep knowledge of all matters concerning HR departments. You should be able to manage programs and lead staff while also possessing a strong strategic mindset. The goal is to ensure that all HR needs of the company are being met and are aligned with all business objectives.

Talent Management duties

Manages entire recruitment process with regard to talent selection and acquisition, talent development and Employee Engagement.

Develop, execute, and maintain polices in regards to company wide talent acquisition process including; staffing, talent pipeline building, college recruitment efforts, reference/background checks, on-boarding, and all other recruitment related policies and procedures.

Develop, execute, and maintain employee performance evaluations, training and development plans.

Work with senior leadership team on improvement strategies for employee engagement including; rewards, teamwork, talent retention, compensation and appreciation.

Human Resource Generalist duties

Maintain Employee Handbook

Ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by remaining current on new and existing legislation.

Manage the company benefit package, including renewals, enrollments, status changes, etc.

Advise and counsel management on employee relations and dispute resolution.

Develops, Improves and Advances company human resource policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree or related experience, MBA a plus

Human Resource certification is a must

Candidate must have experience developing an HR department from scratch

Minimum of 5 years HR experience within a blue collar or service organization with 200-1500 employees and contractors
