Job Description: Director, Global IT Security Operations

Position Description :

The role requires the ability to effectively operate in a blended environment of business and technical personnel of various levels across a fast-paced global organization focused on growth. This IT Director will perform a leadership role in the Global IT organization with responsibilities for all relevant security operations responsibilities.

This IT Director will need to actively engage cross-functionally with many IT and business areas such as Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications, Regional IT teams, HR, Corporate Communications, and Legal. The organizational breadth of the position spans the global Allegion enterprise with focus on executing and delivering the Global IT Security Program and Collaboration Services objectives with high standards of quality and responsiveness.

This position reports to the Chief Information Security Officer.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Manage the performance of the Global IT Security Operations team per agreed objectives for the area of responsibility
  • Drive the efficient delivery of all business requirements relative to Security Operations with other IT teams and 3rd party service providers as they are required to meet stakeholder’s needs and deliver desired outcomes
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to early career talent in related roles
  • Ensure the team is forward-looking relative to the global threat landscape and associated technologies and solutions
  • Assist in the achievement and maintenance of compliance regarding PCI, SOX, ISO, HIPAA, ITIL, etc. as required for projects within the security program
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver a metrics-driven view of the programs based on industry standards and practices relevant for informing Allegion’s business decision-making
  • This leader will interface with executive leadership across the business and IT, with significant interaction and alignment of goals with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and CIO staff.

Skills Profile :

  • Versatile and experienced in driving the execution of a complex and demanding portfolio of work while achieving results through team members and colleagues on adjacent teams by effective delegation of work across available resources
  • Proven record as a collaborative consensus-builder driving to meet business objectives, including but not limited to management of competing priorities, issue escalation, and dispute resolution
  • Ability to identify risks and issues, devise mitigating actions, and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques
  • Customer-focused with a demonstrated proficiency in managing enterprise teams, portfolios and programs
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead teams, managed workloads and deliver on commitments in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present in front of a variety of audiences at all levels of the organization
  • Learning agility, including a demonstrated ability to pick up and master business and technical subject matters quickly
  • Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to drive technical projects to solve business problems

Position qualification:

  • Required: Ten+ years of experience leading IT services delivery and operations across the full lifecycle in a global enterprise setting
  • Required: B.S. in Computer Science, MIS or Business or a related discipline
  • Preferred: Experience in operations and technical incident response involving cloud, email, identity and access management (IAM) services, and device management or other security-relevant IT platform or service
  • Preferred: Graduate degree or certificate; Relevant industry certifications
