Business Office Manager – Full Time
Essential Functions:
- Record cash receipts in the proper account.
- Maintain necessary billing and financial information in resident files.
- Maintain resident trust accounts and balances monthly.
- Accumulate records from the department managers and successfully handle the month-end closing – reporting all necessary information to the Corporate Office.
- Perform and coordinate all collection efforts in collaboration with the nursing home Administrator.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming payments with addresses, telephone numbers, etc.; explain bills to residents as necessary and maintain appropriate back-up records.
- Maintain system for recording accounts receivables.
- Knowledge of reimbursement system, allowable services and documentation required to ensure accurate billing.
- Reconcile room and board to monthly census.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information.
- Maintains effective communication with residents, families, facility staff and business office staff members.
- Must be able to meet strict deadlines for billing and reporting.
Qualifications:
- High school graduation; two years of college level accounting courses are required or equivalent experience.
- Two years experience in accounts receivable or bookkeeping preferred in LTC and SNF.
- Knowledge of adding machines and computer software required.
