Assistant Project Manager â Job Description:
Responsibilities include working with customers to implement technology solutions as well as troubleshoot issues to help our partners be successful in the field. You will perform technical and administrative work with the installation, upgrades, maintenance, and/or monitoring of various infrastructures, new and existing equipment, and cabling installations. The assistant will work side by side with the Project Manager ensuring all projects run efficiently through all phases of the project.
Duties:
- Handle day to day operations of projects including schedule preparation, site coordination, material, and equipment orders.
- Provide the first level of contact and support for our customers.
- Draft, submit, and track all customer and partner requests and distribute to all appropriate team members.
- Assist with vendor and technician management.
- Assist with customer relationships.
- Escalate incidents or assignment of tasks if needed.
- Verify team has completed the required tasks and documentation.
- Ensure that the projects start and complete on time and meet budget expectations.
- Update the ticketing system with appropriate data.
- Communicate information with customer and Project Managers.
- Review projects with the Project Manager to verify they are on schedule.
- Assist in developing cost savings for all assigned projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Three to five years of experience in information technology.
- Three to five years of cabling experience.
- 1+ years as an Assistant Project Manager.
- Successful management of a $1 million project a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with hardware installation a plus.
- Proficient with Email, Excel, Word, Google Docs, Dropbox, and an aptitude to learn other software packages as required.
- Education: High school, GED equivalent, or higher.
- Self-starter with exceptional problem-solving abilities coupled with a get-it-done attitude.
- Exercise the highest ethical standards.
- Some travel is required.
- Must have a valid state driverâs license and non-negligent driving record.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check as a condition of employment.
