The Assistant Director of Development for Medical Education and Alumni Development will be a key member of UNC Medicine working to expand the successful Medical Education fundraising program to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects and donors. This position will be dedicated to advancing the education mission of the UNC School of Medicine by identifying, soliciting, and cultivating medical alumni leadership annual gifts of $1K-$50K for Medical Education, executing a fully integrated annual giving strategy, and qualifying major gift prospects for UNC Medicine.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Minimum one year of experience in frontline fundraising, annual giving, planned giving or closely related fields. Related fields may include work in a non-profit, healthcare, or University setting, sales or marketing. -Strong verbal and written communications skills. -Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. -Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and judgment. -Ability to interact effectively in comprehensive environment such as a research university setting with donors, faculty, staff and volunteers. -Exhibit the highest standards of professionalism and performance as evidenced by integrity, initiative, collaborative teamwork, critical thinking, accuracy, consistency, timeliness and attention to detail. -Local and regional travel and some evening and weekend work are required. -PREFERRED: Medical school or medical center experience; Experience using wealth-screening tools.Bachelor’s Degree required
