Position Overview
MSCI is seeking an ambitious professional to lead the development, implementation and operation of an end-to-end analytics and reporting process for revenues and key operating metrics on an enterprise-wide basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join MSCI at a key time in the Firm’s growth to play a critical role in the transformation of how revenue data and analytics are leveraged to enhance decision-making. As a key leader in the revenue accounting and reporting team, this position will collaborate with the Technology team in identifying the applications and analytical tools to build out the Firm’s data management process to deliver timely reporting, analysis and insights through reporting and visualization. This role will also partner with the global revenue recognition accounting and reporting team, the business finance teams, investor relations and FP&A to deliver the right data at the right time in an appropriate format. Scope of Responsibility
- Promotes the strategic vision for business intelligence and analytical solutions to advance data science discipline related to revenue recognition and reporting, including statistical analysis, predictive analytics and machine learning.
- Architect an end-to-end Data & Analytics Operating Model (e.g., enterprise data management, reporting automation/ simplification, data science, next generation analytics technology/ platform) to support the revenue recognition reporting.
- Collaborate with Technology to design and lead the technical implementation of efficient, adaptable, scalable, and reliable data pipelines and algorithms to process unstructured and structured big data
- Collaborate with Technology to develop a robust data architecture for big data, transactional data and master data to support data exploration, analytics and reporting.
- Acts as a champion and change agent for BI and data analytic solutions.
- Collaborate Work with accounting team members to define requirements for ad-hoc data analysis and reporting
- Design and lead the technical implementation of efficient, adaptable, scalable, and reliable data pipelines and algorithms to process unstructured and structured big data
- Ongoing research of other industries and understanding of trends and innovations in the marketplace
- Ability to translate complex analytical results into business focused visuals and story focusing on product innovation
- Keep current on contemporary trends, tools and best practices in the areas of data science, analytics and visualization
- Support MSCI Finance Controllers initiatives of organizational and functional transformation

Desired Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, Mathematics or relevant discipline required.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree, such as Master’s in Data Analytics, Data Science or Business Administration
- Certification in data analytics, business intelligence or data science
