Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Dallas, TX.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Dallas, TX. Responsible for providing support to the Firm’s critical applications that leverage the Oracle database platform, including ensuring the health, performance and availability of systems in achieving the desired outcomes of those applications, and engaging in performance tuning and database queries. Support Oracle database standardization programs by designing, developing and implementing programs and developing/implementing security measures. Install, configure, upgrade and maintain Oracle DBMS environment utilizing Oracle Data Guard / Oracle RAC. Provide production support for Oracle systems and build the database infrastructure (excluding utilities interfacing with DBMS and Self-service Portal capabilities) globally. Manage various operating systems (OS) and database specific upgrades on the Linux environment. Build automation tools using Python and shell scripting to reduce manual implementation. Enhance existing applications using batch scripting and Perl. Partner and advise application developer clients on instilling best practices and solutions within the applications. Analyze Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and disaster recovery scenarios to ensure critical systems can tolerate failures and have appropriate contingency plans.

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field AND three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field AND five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have at least three (3) years of experience (if Masters) or five (5) years of experience (with Bachelor’s): designing and supporting more than one (1) mission critical systems at any given time; and as an Oracle Database Administrator, including experience performance tuning and troubleshooting. Must have three (3) years of experience with: using a Linux Operating System, including using UNIX commands to analyze, maintain and develop server-size scripts, shell scripts, and Perl or Python scripts; SQL, including SQL performance and tuning and diagnosing potential performance issues by analyzing Query execution plans; the full Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements gathering, design, prioritization, coding, testing, release and support; interacting with technical stakeholders; performing applications database support, including database design for highly concurrent applications, replication, stored procedures, and troubleshooting; migrating, upgrading, setting up Disaster Recovery, and data protection for hundreds of large databases in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments; Oracle Database Server management on premise and in the cloud (AWS); and database management automation using shell scripts, and Perl or Python scripts.
