Position Summary:

SiriusXM’s Connected Vehicle (CV) organization is transitioning to Agile and Scrum and is looking for Scrum Masters to join our team to help us master Scrum and deliver great products to our customers.

In this role you will be a key member of the engineering team responsible for ensuring the successfully delivery of Agile projects. You will be called upon to utilize your influence, leadership, project management skills and knowledge of agile to deliver customer value and to increase the effectiveness and velocity of the Scrum team. This role will be reporting into Director, Agile practice.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is collaborative , value driven , customer focused, and can be the watchdog for the teams. He/she is responsible for monitoring the Agile processes, techniques and mindset to increase team efficiency, motivating the team, advocates for changes that will ensure quality and timeliness governance around the Software Development Lifecycle processes and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading scrum teams to successfully deliver customer product increments.
  • Guiding, coaching, empowering the team and removing impediments to the team’s progress.
  • Providing agile leadership and training, assessing the team’s agile maturity and constantly raising the bar to improve the team’s velocity.
  • Work with the leadership team to provide Backlog data along with the goals attained by team
  • Build Data driven work culture

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent experience.
  • CSM / CSPO is a plus
  • Certified Coach (Optional)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, MBA a plus

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Experience as an Enterprise or Team Coach for atleast 1 years
  • Experience as a Scrum Master (min 4 years) for a software development team that diligently applied Scrum principles, practices, and theory and has successfully shipped multiple product releases.
  • Understand the fundamentals concepts of software development including continuous integration and deployment best practices.
  • Experience in agile measurement techniques and in establishing key metrics for tracking team effectiveness and velocity.
  • A deep agile toolbox including awareness of various agile techniques, alternate project management approaches and the wisdom to understand when to apply which process to the problem at hand.
  • Scrum Master Certification is a plus
  • Good skills and experience of servant leadership, facilitation, awareness, continual improvement, empowerment, conflict resolution, and increasing transparency.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement of the process, practices and templates
  • Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure associated with the SDLC.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Safe, FDD, etc.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc).
  • Experience with Atlassian products, HP, Automation
  • Experience with DevOps, ITIL, Cloud Services, IT Infrastructure and Operations, including environment standup, server builds, firewalls, security and compliance (Optional)
  • Demonstrable, recent experience developing web-applications or micro services using Java and/or node.js a plus.
  • Hands-on software development
