As part of EdjAnalytics, EdjSports is a data science and prescriptive analytics sports firm seeking a highly motivated Sales Director to elevate EdjVarsity, our high school football product, by increasing and maintaining a client base. He or she wil play a significant role in both designing the sales strategy and executing it. This Sales Director should be motivated by working alongside the sales team to achieve desired results, and should also be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with multiple business areas for optimal success.
Responsibilities
- Drive the sales efforts for EdjVarsity across the United States, by designing and executing an aggressive sales plan with specific revenue goals
- Train, mentor and manage a team of sales representatives
- Travel to and lead sales presentations and product demos to coaches, analysts, and administrators
- Present at industry conferences
- Work with the marketing team to support relevant marketing campaigns
- Assist in the development of new applications/modules that are identified through client interactions and increased/ongoing understanding of the features of the EdjVarsity product
- Contribute as necessary to other areas of the business
Requirements
- Bachelorâs degree in business, sports management or related field
- Solid understanding of the game of football and a genuine interest in the sport (experience as a collegiate athlete is a plus
- Interest in analytics and educating people on how to make better decisions based on data
- Direct experience selling to coaches
- Experience managing inside and outside sales teams
- Self-drive and motivation to accomplish goals with minimal oversight
- Ability to make decisions based on data
- Demonstrated active listening skills and ability to address and overcome objections
- Proactive and creative thinking
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt in order to thrive in a collaborative startup environment
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
