SUMMARY:
The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for managing the overall direction, completion, and budget of each assigned hotel construction project. This position will require approximately 20% of travel, locally.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage multiple hotel construction projects and the development of each from beginning to end
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables
- Manage every aspect of the development process including consultants, general contractors, vendors, specialty contractors, budgets, internal departments, and developers
- Familiar knowledge of construction components, process, and methodologies
- Manage each phase of the project including entitlement, design, permitting, bidding, contracting, construction, store start up, store turnover, and project close out
- Plan and schedule project timelines
- Familiar with contract administration and change order review
- Quality control and assurance
- Budget development, forecasting, and management
- Web based project management
- Provide direction and support to the project team
- Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions
- Manage day-to-day activities for program sourcing and logistic requirements
- Expedite purchase orders to vendors working with internal client teams
- Manage delivery schedules and translate store requirements to available inventory
- Coordinate & communicate activities and schedules with all vendors and internal EMG team
- Manage inbound logistics and tracking process from Material Supplier to Distribution Center to Store
- Alert internal client team of lost or missing material items; monitor and drive sourcing issues to timely resolution
- Protects operations by keeping company information confidential
- Delivers outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to clients’ needs
- Demonstrates EMG’s guiding principles in support of the company’s strategic goals
- Follows all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of EMG’s and clients’ quality standards
- Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations
- May be required to work overtime with prior authorization from supervisor
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
LINES OF AUTHORITY:
This position reports to a Program Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- Degree in Construction, Architecture, or Engineering preferred
- A minimum of 3 years in hotel construction project management requirde
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Strong consideration will be given to those that are PMP and LEED certified
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Personal credit sufficient to charge business travel expenses of up to $3,000 required.
Other Qualifications
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must be able to work from a remote location
- Must be willing to fly and live near (or be willing to relocate to) a major metropolitan area with reasonable access to a major airport
- Ability to travel, on average, up to 90% of time to client sites throughout the entire U.S.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with EMG employees and customers
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills including ability to perform multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to use and skillfully operate an electronic tablet efficiently in the field for live data collection is essential to this position
- A personal cell phone and supply your own internet service
