OVERVIEW:
The San Joaquin Valley Manufacturing Alliance has the potential to change the future of the valley. Building upon the significant changes in educationâK-12 and the community colleges, thanks to legislative changes and strong leadershipâwe are building strong partnerships with education and government to create a world-class workforce ecosystem.
The primary role of the Consultant will be to connect with educators and students and engage manufacturers to create quality programs that support the development of a world-class workforce. The Consultant will work with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors of the SJVMA to achieve specific goals as determined by the SJVMA leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date contact database of local manufacturers, government agencies and education institutions and programs.
Continue the development of relationships with current education partners and research and connect with new partners to become knowledgeable of all regional manufacturing career education programs currently operating and in development.
Continue to build upon and strengthen current internship, externship and apprenticeship models, plus develop new opportunities with other educational partners in the region.
Connect and build relationships with regional manufacturers to help them identify career education programs and resources available to them that can address their workforce needs and concerns.
Engage with educational and community partners on joint projects and initiatives (MFG Month events, Dream It. Do It., Career Tech Expo, etc.)
Work with educational and community partners to inventory/calendar various advisory boards and community events to determine highest and best use for SJVMA board and member representation and involvement.
OTHER ALLIANCE ACTIVITIES TO ASSIST WITH AS APPROPRIATE:
Work with Executive Director to plan Advisory Board and Quarterly member meetings.
Assist with planning and execution of annual Manufacturing Summit.
Conduct research on and implement industry best practices for education partnerships and program collaborations.
