Position Title: Director Human Resources

Department: Human Resources 8/2019

Under the general direction of the SVP, Human Resources and in conformance with established Credit Union policies strategies and procedures, this person will assist with shaping cultural solutions that emphasize and reflect our inclusion principles. They will model behaviors that align with Greylock’s core values and focus on employees and coach/influence others to do the same, especially leaders and managers. Ensures that Greylock is in compliance with statutes and regulations regarding all matters of employment. Provides Human Resources support and direction for all departments of Greylock and for the CUSO.

Key Job Requirements:

1. Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to the members served by the Credit Union while performing all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines and Credit Union policies and procedures.

2. Keeps abreast of regulatory compliance and developments for assigned area and apprises staff of same. Implements procedural changes as needed to support prescribed requirements.

3. Acts in coaching and consulting capacity for supervisors and managers. Works with Director of Training and Development to identify and develop specialized training for individual managers and supervisors as needed.

4. Insures consistency and fairness in situations involving disciplinary action, conflict, and alleged harassment. Teaches and advises supervisors/managers on appropriate handling of performance issues, disciplinary action and policy enforcement.

5. Assists in overseeing performance management process and systems. Supports/ advises development of performance evaluations and coaches Managers/ Supervisors on performance feedback throughout the year. Oversees documentation of job descriptions and timely job evaluations.

6. Provides support and oversight to Benefits Administrator regarding benefits vendors, brokers, open enrollment and leaves of absence.

7. Partners with Managers and Division Heads to coach and support Managers and Supervisors to ensure consistent, equal, and fair treatment of employees using IDEA principles (Inclusive, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility).

8. Participates in new employee orientations or trainings for existing staff as needed.

9. Promotes the Credit Union wherever and whenever possible. Required to actively represent the Credit Union in local civic, community and professional organizations.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, and 7 years experience in the Human Resources field.

· Previous work supporting a diverse workforce in a human resources function preferred.

  • Proven management, customer service and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the Credit Union’s Mission and services.
  • Ability to use various types of office software, spread sheet applications and PC proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Supervisory Scope: At least 2 direct reports.
