Vista College is currently hiring for a Director of Admissions at our College Station campus.

Responsible for the supervision of the Admission’s Department including all recruitment and enrollment. Must provide tools for admissions evaluation, systematic planning, supervision of representatives, research data analysis, community relations, and recruitment budgeting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Establishes flow chart for all prospective students (leads). This chart must include the following:
a. Name.
b. Phone number
c. Source of lead.
d. Time
2. Supervises all inquiry calls from potential students and follow-up. Analyzes the setting of appointments for a personal interview.
3. Supervises interviews of prospective students.
4. Recommends acceptance or non-acceptance into programs.
5. Supervises the follow-up of all enrollments and no-shows.
6. Supervises the completion of enrollment forms and collects the designated registration fee (if applicable).
7. Supervises follows-up on cancellations and no-shows and ensure a contact is made with the student through the first six days of each new start. (A start of 90% of all enrollments is considered acceptable).
8. Provides all reports as may be required to provide accurate sources of leads.
9. Maintains a reasonable balance of enrollments between all programs offered.
10. Develops leads and referrals. Referrals should make up at least 20% of all full-time enrollments.
11. Maintains a reasonable close rate from all sources of leads.
12. Assures a minimum of 10 full-time enrollments per month per admission representative.
13. Advises students as needed for individual concerns/issues.
14. Maintains a log of all leads, enrollments, starts, cancellations and no-shows by admission’s representative.
15. Maintains a record of student retention and graduation/completer percentages.
16. Provides a weekly admissions report to the President.
17. Participates in professional development seminars and activities to enhance admissions and recruitment.
18. Attend Career Fairs, Job Fairs, Agency meetings, etc. to promote the institution.
19. Provides direct supervision to admission representatives.
20. Performs all other duties as assigned by the School Director and/or President.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate’s degree in a related Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts, or Social Sciences discipline with 5+ years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • The Admissions Director should have experience in the proprietary school business and have served as an Admission’s Representative.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills.
  • Database management skills.
  • Knowledge of recruiting/hiring principles and practices.
  • Case management skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain confidential files and records.
  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • May be required to travel to different sites.
  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
