Description: The Clinical Director works under the supervision of the Medical Director and CEO, responsible for overseeing and developing the Clinical department. Developing, planning and implementing strategies for program continuation and growth. Provide supervision and training to clinical staff, interns and contract therapists. This position must have a positive and supportive attitude toward the agency and its overall success. Must have the ability to think globally, promptly solve problems and have good decision-making skills, including critical thinking skills. The Clinical Director is ultimately responsible for grant deliverable, clinical documentation, ensuring adherence to agency policy, staff training and supervision, staff development and fostering a team environment. Clinical Director is responsible for ensuring all consumers have access to behavioral health and community resources in a timely and efficient manner.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee all aspects of the clinical department; following the agency mission demonstrated by setting departmental goals and objectives, approved by the CEO. Evaluating existing contract compliance, monitoring and reporting to ensure all goals are being met.
  • Project, develop, and monitor revenue and expense budget for fee for service programs in conjunction with the Chief Operation Officer and work effectively with the Finance staff to develop an efficient billing system.
  • Collaborate with PTW-MSI executive team to solve problems and present viable solutions to the CEO.
  • Understand and follow all policies and procedures and participate in the Institute’s quality improvement activities including patient/consumer satisfaction reports and clinical outcomes.
  • Have a full understanding of CBT codes that are used by the agency and how they align with payers.
  • Manage and research grants and participate in the writing of grants.
  • Represent Paving the Way Multi Service Institute in the community, corporate and donor environment.
  • Develop, plan and implement strategies to manage program growth and ensure self-funding and sustainability of the program. Regularly review and recommend changes in program services to meet client needs with emphasis on services for the undeserved communities on Wards 7 and 8, minority community, women facing domestic violence and abuse and the LGBT population, oversight of program evaluation and quality assurance functions for department including assessment of applicable legal and professional requirements and monitoring treatment plans for clients.
  • Ensure contract compliance for clinical department and volunteers within the department.
  • Gather performance data and outcomes and shares in staff meetings and supervision.
  • Regularly provide clinical training to clinical staff and interns.
  • Must be reliable and consistent with attendance and punctuality to work.
  • Provide and perform emergency services during business and after hours as warranted,
  • Monitor documentation compliance to include timeliness and correctness of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes.

Clinical Duties:

  • Provides Psycho social assessments with diagnostic evaluations and other assessments as warranted;
  • Provides Therapy and Therapeutic sessions to individuals, couples, families and groups;
  • Demonstrates managerial efficiencies with Paving the Way Multi Service Institute’s consumer caseload(s) and of the clinical needs of the clinic;
  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports and other required documentation in a timely manner;
  • Oversees the coordination and implementation of behavioral health treatment;
  • Provides emergency evaluations of consumers in crisis and facilitates referral to more intensive levels of addictions treatment or psychiatric hospitalization if needed;
  • Documents all services as directed by Paving the Way Multi Service Institute;
  • Timely completion of Treatment Plans and ITPs, on a consistent basis;
  • Provides consultation to Medical Director or other clinic staff to facilitate a coordinated continuum of care;
  • Utilization of EHR system to document all clinical work with consumers;
  • Maintain a positive attitude of cooperation and friendliness and be able to communicate with all levels with Paving the Way Multi Service Institute;
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the CEO.
