Did you know that while over 90% of parents believe their kids should learn to code, only 40% of schools offer any sort of programming curriculum? Many of which are minimal at best. Did you know that while 58% of new STEM jobs are in computing, only 8% of STEM graduates are in computer science?
At Code Ninjas, we believe that not only can we help fill those gaps, but that we can do so in a way that has kids begging their parents to come back for more!
Code Ninjas in Kendall Park, NJ is looking for a great leader to help mold the future as our Ninjas. We are located on 1506 Stelton Road, Piscataway. Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and engaged.
Here’s what will make you the right leader for Code Ninjas:
1. You love kids
*The experts at Code Ninjas have developed an awesome program that’s as fun as it is educational. So, while you don’t need to be a coder yourself, you must love kids. *You may have worked as a summer camp counselor, a teacher, a babysitter, a coach, or someone’s favorite Aunt or Uncle. * Kids will have fun in our center….every time they visit. You will be the culture curator that ensures this happens.
2. You like to have fun
*Building a business may not always be easy, but it should always be fun. We believe we can take our work seriously without taking ourselves seriously. *Attitude is everything: You’ll bring energy, optimism and passion to everything you do. Your enthusiasm for Code Ninjas will be contagious to the kids, their parents, and your team.
3. You are a self-starter who loves to lead and coach
*When others may shy away, you often find yourself volunteering to lead – whether it’s a project, event, or team. *You enjoy starting with a blank page and making something out of nothing. We are building a business; we need a partner to turn our vision for Code Ninjas into a reality. *You may make mistakes: When you do, you take accountability, learn and move forward. *Kids will have fun in our center….every time they visit. You will be the culture curator that ensures this happens.
4. You may have had had experience doing some of the items listed below. If you haven’t done it all but this posting resonates, don’t sweat it, I’d still love to hear from you.
All about the job
Perhaps you have noticed that kids are going to have fun every time they are in the center and that culture you create is going to make that happen. We believe it so much that it’s become foundational to our brand – Kids have fun, parents see results®. That’s the headline, here are some details.
1. We have to build a team, and you will be instrumental in doing so. This will include interviewing and hiring “senseis” for our students, scheduling, mentoring, caring for, and nurturing the most important part of our business – the team.
2. You will be responsible for sales and marketing. This will include following up on leads that are generated from our extensive advertising, building relationships in the community, coming up with promotions and incentives, and anything else you can think of to help grow our business.
3. Parents need to know their kids are learning. You’ll need to communicate effectively so parents see results while their kids are having fun.
4. We are proud of the center that is being built and I am confident you will be too. Parents need to feel good about it and kids need to have an environment in which they can thrive. You’ll do whatever it takes to continue making the facility look and feel world class. This may even mean scrubbing toilets sometimes. Don’t worry, we’ll scrub them too.
5. You will challenge us and come up with new ideas to build our business. We love people with intellectual curiosity who challenge the status quo. Let’s have some great debate on how to grow this amazing brand.
6. You will have flexibility in hours. Its typically going to be evening and weekend hours.
