AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE and PARTS DIRECTOR

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Hire, train, develop and motivate the service department staff and monitor their performance.
  • Develop and oversee an annual operating budget for the service and parts department and keep dealership management informed of variances.
  • Forecast goals and objectives for the departments and ensure they are met.
  • Ensure that the service, parts department and Collision Center meet all customer satisfaction (CSI) and financial goals.
  • Schedule training as necessary to properly repair and service vehicles.
  • Stay up to date on product changes and new products.
  • Ensure that all necessary shop equipment is in proper and safe working condition.
  • Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect service department operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know, etc.
  • Utilize available pricing parameters and strategies to generate sufficient profit while maintain customer loyalty.
  • Ensure inventory is appropriate to meet customer demand while controlling obsolete and excess inventory.
  • Ensure full compliance with manufacturer parts and warranty policies, procedures and rules.

Requirements (included but not limited to):

  • 5 or more years’ SERVICE AND PARTS MANAGEMENT experience in an automotive service department. Collision experience a plus.
  • Strong Leadership skills with the ability to motivate his departments to be successful.
  • Ability to set and meet goals and objectives for departments.
  • Experience managing 30+ employees proffered.
  • Reynolds and Reynolds DMS a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated with the confidence in your ability to be successful.
  • Great attitude with high-energy personality.
  • Excellent customer satisfaction skills.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic.
  • Bilingual- a plus.
