The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a full-time, professional staff member and assist in promoting the mission and philosophy of the program. Duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following: * Work directly with the Director of ACCESS to manage, evaluate, and improve ACCESS programming. * Serve as an advocate for the financial and academic needs of ACCESS students with faculty, administrators, and campus and community partners. * Recruit, hire, and train graduate student mentors to work one-on-one with ACCESS students. * Market and promote the ACCESS program and its offerings through social media and direct communications with students, parents, and the university community. * Serve as the academic advisor for a caseload of students from orientation through graduation, monitor their academic success, and refer them to appropriate support resources as needed. * Provide career-related counseling, information, and support to upper-class students. * Provide basic personal counseling when appropriate and refer students to other campus offices for assistance if needed. * Teach one course per semester for ACCESS students related to college and career success. * Create and maintain program resources including manuals, websites, newsletters, and forms. * Coordinate program evaluations and assessment. * Assist in the preparation of semester and annual reports. * Coordinate projects and perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Director to meet the goals and objectives of the program. * Work collaboratively with units throughout the Student Learning Center and the University. * Responsibilities can include other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Earned Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or related field. * Knowledge of current trends and issues facing low-income, first-generation college students. * Demonstrated experience working with college students with a low-income or first generation student background. * Excellent oral and written communication skills, a collaborative work style, and strong interpersonal skills. * Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
