and responsible citizenship. This is a position designed for a mental health practitioner who has:
a) Strong, extensive experience in building and delivering mental health training content.
b) Knowledge of clinical conceptualization and diagnosis, mental health and crisis interventions (e.g., depression, anxiety, stress and suicidality, secondary trauma and compassion fatigue).
c) Knowledge of prevention and outreach strategies (e.g., evidence-informed practices related to positive psychology, holistic health promotion and wellness).
This person will also assist the oversight of large initiatives such as suicide prevention and response, social justice and multiculturalism, and crisis management. This person will both aid and participate in development and delivery of training curriculum to meet a wide variety of needs. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the oversight of significant collaborative and networking activities such as developing and strengthening partnerships with other professional networks and enhancing the university’s reputation in areas related to health and wellness, safety and resiliency.
This person will provide direct support for Residential Life student staff who interface with complex behavioral, crisis, and conduct incidents in the form of referral, consultation, and debriefing following high-impact behavioral incidents taking place in on-campus housing, including but not limited to sexual assault, suicidal ideation, assault, incidents of self-harm, and student death.

Required/Preferred
Graduate Degree in Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, Education; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required
Licensed in State of California.
Preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience facilitating mental health trainings for variety of constituents.
Preferred
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
Preferred
Counseling, training and/or teaching skills to assist professional staff, student staff, and student leaders to develop personal understanding about mental health related issues.
Required
Demonstrates ability to participate in successful movements, campaigns, and positive community development among college-aged students and other university constituents.
Required
Current certification in suicide prevention and/or gatekeeper programs (e.g., ASIST,QPR, Mental Health First Aid, etc).

Ability to create and deliver engaging and relevant workshops and presentations.

Knowledge of college student issues, higher education administration and policy, and best practices of college student learning outside the classroom.
