The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for managing the Operations departments to deliver the best service to both internal and external clients. The primary focus for this role is License & Title Services but will also play a key role in supporting other operational areas. Manage internal client relationships and expectations both within Operations and with all LPUS teams and team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- License and Title Services – Timely and accurate initial licensing and titling of approximately 35,000 vehicles annually and the registration renewals for approximately 80,000 vehicles annually.
- Cross team collaboration with other department leaders to support management of client needs.
- Administration of other products and services including Toll and Violations management, DOT compliance and IRP regulations.
- Compliance with all state/county laws regarding plating and registration of vehicles.
- Drive operating performance delivering efficiencies to enable growth, providing superior customer service, improving processes, and enhancing systems to improve capabilities and capacity.
- Lead as business owner and actively participate in projects aimed at our continuing effort to review and improve all operational business processes utilizing LEAN process methodology to:
- Eliminate waste from processes and achieve operational cost savings.
- Define and document “to be” processes in order to align processes with future technology system enhancements.
- Define and drive standardization and efficiencies to create capabilities for new and existing products and services.
- Accurately define prioritization of operations projects.
- Improve service level to internal/external clients.
- Identify processes that should be automated.
- Reduce operational losses.
- Utilize analytics to help support decisions, enable growth, measure performance and redirect resources as required.
- Lead effort to identify new opportunities and maintain existing rebate and pricing arrangements with suppliers and partners. Work closely with the Director of Operational Excellence and Procurement in analyzing offerings and maximizing potential returns. Utilizes “steering” to push business to partners favorable to LeasePlan and our clients. Maintain metrics to track performance toward achievement of targets.
OTHER DUTIES
- Provide P&L leadership and vision to the operations; understand and leverage both people and technology to elevate overall operational performance across the organization.
- Oversee compliance rules and regulations for state and county laws as it relates to the titling process.
- Participate in projects and initiatives at a very in depth level to ensure that the end results meet or exceed objectives.
- Advise the EVP-Operations and senior management on all matters that come to the Vice President’s attention, either formally or informally, which may have either a short-term or long-term impact on the operational ability/and or the profitability of the company.
- Cultivate strong cross-functional working relationships throughout the organization using shared strategies, successful collaboration, and a joint sense of accountability.
- Serve as a voting member of the Resource Governance Board tasked with reviewing and prioritizing LPUS initiative portfolio.
- Establish, maintain and test operational disaster recovery and business continuity plans within the parameters of the corporate policy.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive knowledge of state/county titling requirements.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive operations leadership, managing multi-functional Operations teams as well as executive-level responsibility.
- Leader with proven track record of initiating change in an operations organization.
- Aptitude to develop, implement and improve operational business processes. Understanding of budget cycles and forecasting.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple operational projects and tasks while juggling competing priorities.
- Strong communication (verbal, written), management and decision making skills.
