What you will do
As the VP Global Quality you will be responsible for leading the quality operating system. You will drive quality improvement and customer satisfaction across the global products enterprise. Together with your team you will develop and deploy global quality strategies that ensure world class quality performance that provides a competitive advantage for Johnson Controls. You will Lead efforts to build and sustaining quality capability and capacity to deliver the short and long term business strategies. As you work across the Global Products businesses and functional organizations, your primary focus will be to establish the direction for the Global Products Quality Operating System. In collaboration with the business, you will work to define and prioritize metrics, needs and investments. This role will also provide support for essential programs by participating in design reviews, ensuring appropriate performance to meet expectations of the quality program deliverables, and provide representation with the product teams and manufacturing teams. You will lead the quality excellence efforts to drive innovation, product development and manufacturing advancements. You will create and implement tools, standards and processes and drive alignment and consistency as needed across the Product businesses. You will operate a Quality Leadership Team that includes quality leaders from the business. Additionally you will work in collaboration with the business leaders, leading the talent agenda for quality across the Global Products business including job family definition, incentives, qualifications, career path, standards, training and development programs, KPIâs
How you will do it
- Drive quality improvement efforts across all global manufacturing locations
- Create and deploy quality systems and tools to facilitate world class quality performance.
- Represent Senior Leadership with customers to review issues, provide feedback and provide permanent corrective action.
- Develop and communicate quality strategic plan that will continuously improve the performance of the business.
- Facilitate quality deep dives with Senior Global Products and Region leadership to create visibility and implement corrective actions on top business and quality issues.
- Develop a robust and effective quality and warranty system across Global Products.
- Develop and deploy an unbiased warranty process and allocates responsibility across appropriate Global Products business and departments.
- Drive initiatives to improve quality performance and achieve established goals for Building Efficiency
- Develop strategies to improve the quality deliverables and launch metrics for across all businessesâ product development process.
- Lead the supplier quality improvement efforts to achieve high quality performance from suppliers who provide direct materials to BE manufacturing plants or branded third party material.
- Drive quality improvement by establishing global metrics and actions plans to improve
- Support sales and service branches by resolving top quality issues in the field and improve the customers overall experience and customer loyalty.
- Collaborate with operational functions to troubleshoot manufacturing and production defects, and customer complaints
- Discuss quality-related issues with regulators and monitor compliance
- Formulate and recommends QA, QC, and validation policies and programs
- Develop departmental budget for quality assurance, validation and quality control, including defining materials, equipment and personnel needs
Qualifications
What we look for
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, related field of study or equivalent work plus 15 years related experience. Masterâs degree preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to lead global quality improvement efforts and drive best practices across multiple plants. Demonstrated leadership in organizational skills, project planning, team building, Six Sigma/DMAIC problem solving and experience and knowledge with world class quality systems. Strong operational and project management skills. Demonstrated team building and leadership skills. Solid understanding of engineering technical issues/needs, financial, sales, and marketing as related to quality. Strong interpersonal skills and decision making ability. Effective and professional communication and organization skills. Strong acumen for finance and business statistics. An in-depth understanding of building technology offerings and capabilities is desirable.
