Summary:
The Compliance Monitoring & Testing SVP will report to the Chief Legal Officer and will be responsible for overseeing an effective and efficient monitoring and testing program for regulatory compliance. This role will ensure efficient, timely execution and reporting of the monitoring and testing plan and findings.
Essential Duties may include:
- Oversee the workflow of the compliance testing team to ensure the proper execution of the monitoring and testing program.
- Research regulatory requests from business areas and provide regulatory interpretation and executable options to achieve regulatory requirements and business needs.
- Plan and develop testing across all business activities, operational processes, systems and internal controls to evaluate adherence to regulatory and policy requirements and compliance risks.
- Assist management with requests from auditors and examiners, as needed.
- Oversee multiple projects at any one time.
- Evaluate trends in errors and develop modifications to business processes as appropriate.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the corrective action plans put into action by the remediation action owners.
- Develop ongoing enhancements to the monitoring & testing program to ensure compliance with Regulatory and Industry practices.
- Drive innovative change throughout the testing program by developing and implementing leading edge, transformative ideas for testing automation, data analysis, and visualization of risks and test results.
- Develop and maintain a high performing compliance testing team.
Education/Experience
- Bachelorâs degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both
- 3 years direct experience in testing to evaluate the effectiveness of controls (may include audit, compliance, internal control, or other related testing)
- Strong knowledge of regulations governing mortgage origination and servicing
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Expect to travel occasionally to other locations as required.
