How you’ll make a difference:

You will report to the North American Financial Shared Services (NAFSS) VP, Controller and be responsible to drive optimization of the shared service accounting environment. You will interact with the key accounting leadership for each BU on a frequent basis to ensure accounting processes are standardized across the organization (including areas outside of NAFSS). You will partner with a broad range of constituents throughout the business as it prepares and distributes internal management financial reporting. You will provide leadership and bench strength for the Accounting Leadership of McKesson.

Responsibilities:

• Drives accounting transformation initiatives, including standardization across the entire accounting organization, beyond just NAFSS.
• Identify opportunities for ongoing outsourcing and automation
• Member of the NAFSS Accounting (ACE) Leadership Team and the NAFSS ELT
• Lead continuous process improvements by focusing on value-added activities and leveraging technology for increased efficiency and automation
• Establishes relationships with the Controllers and other key finance leaders of each business unit
• Maintains key relationships with leaders of the outsourced service provider
• Well-versed in technical accounting, controls
• Collaborate and strengthen relationships with leaders of cross-functional corporate teams and business units
• Implement process, system and internal control changes to ensure the month-end close processes are updated to incorporate impacts from M&A, divestitures, the adoption of new accounting standards, 2021 transformations and other changes
• Actively mentor and develop ACE team members in the department and create an environment that encourages an openness to transformation
• Manage quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors in the relevant areas, providing requested schedules, information and other requests
• Ad hoc project work
• Supports analysis and execution of data and systems transformations projects as needed.

What you will bring to the table:

• 10+ years of relevant experience including 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience)
• CPA strongly preferred
• Experience leading process improvement a large, complex global business
• Experience working with a diverse, remote team
• Experience in performing process as a service for large entities would be valuable
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills are required
• Ability to engage and influence across the organization
• Demonstrated ability to develop strong partnerships with all facets of the organization to develop and execute plans, leveraging various teams across the organization
• Ability to manage and prioritize various responsibilities with competing, short deadlines and under pressure
• Experience using large ERP tools such as SAP
• Consulting background with knowledge of accounting best practices would be helpful
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required. MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
• Must have ability to travel up to 25% of the time
