The Senior Project Manager role is responsible for timely, overall completion of new construction and renovation projects. You would consult with facility operations to maximize the value of improvements within healthcare industry and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Autonomously manages, plans, bids, schedules, coordinates, oversees project execution for multiple projects and multiple facilities. Communicates with regulatory agencies, contractors, facility operators, architects, engineers, designers, management, purchasing buyers regarding technical, scheduling, and budgetary project issues
  • Consults with facility operators to determine need for, scope, and approach for capital improvement projects
  • Prepares contract documents, reviews work completed, approves and accepts work, and reviews and approves invoices for payments
  • Coordinates and directs physical plant activities to assure that new construction and renovation projects are built on time and within budget
  • Assures all subcontracts and materials are purchased within the budget and in accordance with drawings, specifications, project schedule and quality standards
  • Investigates alternate specifications, field construction methods which lower cost, expedite delivery or improve quality of project
  • Coordinates all aspects of the project including estimating, procurement, scheduling, and construction
  • Works with field personnel in resolving subcontractor and construction problems
  • Works with Design personnel in developing alternate designs, changes in specifications and cost saving details
  • Maintains up-to-date information on costs, extras, and changes affecting job profitability and delivery; Reviews actual field costs and projected costs to completion
  • Obtains quotations, purchases subcontracts and materials; Issues purchase orders and subcontract agreements
  • Maintains relationship with subcontractor and material suppliers and assures sound corporate image is maintained through fair dealings and good procurement practices
  • Prepares scope of work description for contractor bidding
  • Submits shop drawings to the Design Department and follows up to ensure that timely approvals are made so as not to delay the project
  • Prepares punch list and assures items are completed in a timely and workmanlike manner
  • Develops center capital expenditure budgets so the improvements can be made in an economical and timely manner
  • Assures all capital expenditures are within or below budget and are completed on time and in accordance with drawings, specifications and company standards
  • Acts as technical advisor to nursing home and retirement center administrators and maintenance personnel on matters relating to routine preventative maintenance and capital improvements
  • Consults with facility operators, staff architects and state regulatory personnel regarding life-safety compliance issues at facilities
  • Conducts periodic physical plant reviews
  • Prepares monthly report and attends operations meetings to report on physical plant issues and interfaces with operations
  • Investigates, recommends, and initiates new programs as they relate to physical plant
  • Assures that “covered insurance claims” are paid by insurance proceeds
  • Attends and participates in scheduled in-service programs and staff meetings
  • Maintains confidentiality of necessary information
  • Utilizes supplies and equipment properly and without waste
  • Thinks and acts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job without being thrown off stride
  • Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required

Educational Requirements

High school diploma. Degree in construction technology, engineering, or architecture, preferred.

Position Requirements

Five years project management experience required.

Lifting 25-50 pound objects; climbing in attics, on roofs, etc.; driving, talking, hearing, seeing, depth perception.

Travel 40% to 50%.

Working Conditions include both inside and outside.
