SUMMARY
This position is responsible for management of North American manufacturing facilities and all activities related to those facilities. This individual plays a critical role in the development, implementation and maintenance of the principles, policies and procedures that comprise the Food Group manufacturing operations. This individual must promote the principles of Safety, Operational Excellence, Quality Management and Lean Six-Sigma to achieve all financial and operational objectives established for these operations. This individual is directly responsible for the adherence by the Manufacturing group to systems established to insure that the products distributed are safe, meet the regulatory requirements, are manufactured in accordance with “Good Manufacturing Practices”, and meet quality expectations of our customers. This individual is responsible for direct supervision of Manufacturing Unit Directors.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with Commercial, Quality Assurance, PPIC, R&D and Engineering as well as affiliated Companies in order to provide for the needs of both internal and external customers.
  • Ensure all manufacturing plants are proactively maintaining compliance with established Quality Assurance procedures by monitoring plant product audits, weekly plant cutting results and customer complaints as filed.
  • Direct responsibility for development and submission of the consolidated plant manufacturing budgets based on the annual Sales Demand Plan.
  • Provides effective oversight and coaching to subordinate managers in order to achieve or exceed financial objectives and expected throughputs established in the annual budget.
  • Provide effective oversight and coaching to subordinate managers to ensure the establishment of a safe work environment at each production plant through the use of established safety programs as well as implementation of new processes which improve annual safety results as measured by OSHA and FG.
  • Assure the accurate as well as timely creation, submission and execution of the annual Long Range and current year Capital Plans to achieve the Strategic Sales and Operations plan as set forth by FG leadership.
  • Assure adherence by all manufacturing facilities to established food safety policies that are in accordance with consumer safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP principles, FSMA, and regulatory agency requirements and customer quality system expectations.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree from 4 year college or university in Engineering, Production Operations, or related technical field.
  • Requires extensive experience in manufacturing and in commissioning new plants.
  • Food processing experience is required.
  • Must have previously held a plant leadership role in manufacturing, or have at least 10 years of experience working in a complex manufacturing environment where responsibilities included multiple plants.5-8 years related experience and/or training in food processing, in a leadership capacity. International experience highly desirable.
