This position has security accountabilities within the AMERICAS region to support the businesses to achieve their operational and commercial objectives across a complex, regulated and a high security risk environment. This is the most senior security management position within the AMERICAS Region and reports direct to the Global Security Director. This position has domestic and international security accountabilities within the AMERICAS region and leads the regional implementation of the Corporate Security Policy and Group Security Standards and leading the development and delivery of risk based continuous improvement activities. This role includes functional management of regional security managers and additional security personnel. In addition to the regional responsibilities this role is also accountable for ensuring JM group security standards are fit for purpose and embedded across the group for all transport and 3rd party location supply chain security risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops security strategy for the AMERICAS region and ensures alignment with global security strategy and regional business needs.
- Ensures effective deployment of the strategy, working through site leadership and security teams.
- Responsible for the ongoing review and implementation of JM group supply chain security risks (transport and 3rd party locations) through development of group security standards, external assurance process and accurate risk reporting. Close working coordination with Global Procurement, Insurance and sector supply chain teams.
- Responsible for functional line management of regional security teams, with a focus on right role, right people, technical development and identification of talent for succession planning.
- Responsible for the delivery of national contracts for manned guarding and technical security systems to ensure value and capability, working with Global Procurement to deliver best contract management principles.
- Responsible for security programs for all business units in the AMERICAS Region.
- Build, develop and lead an effective network of Security Points of Contact (SPOCs) in the AMERICAS region to drive standardisation of good practice and learning.
- Maintains a strong understanding of regional risks and security regulations; identifies significant security risks in the region related to the business operations; directs the design and implementation of programs to prevent and reduce loss of assets.
- Communicates regional security performance metrics and associated reporting with the Global Security Team, Sectors, executive leadership and regional staff. Identifies and drives improvements
- Directs the approach, deployment and execution of security support to investigations within the AMERICAS.
- Develops and manages the capital expense budget over defined financial values for AMERICAS worldwide security operations to ensure fit for purpose and aligned to strategy security investment.
- Supports the Group Business Continuity Manager by delivering BC training and Crisis Management training to non-significant sites across the region.
- Maintain a close working relationship with other corporate functions, particularly Supply Chain, Business Information Services, CAR, Group Insurance and Group EHS.
- Business partnering and consultative support to ensure that sites are aware of their security risks and development of cost effective, commercially focused security solutions
- Risk based assurance reviews in accordance with the annual audit plan and adhoc assurance assignments as requested and follow up on open actions to ensure that sites are actively implementing mitigating activities.
- In conjunction with wider team, review and update of Group Security Policies, procedures and guidance documents.
- Develop key liaisons with external agencies such as law enforcement, customs and excise, intelligence agencies and industry groups such as IPMI and IPA to ensure that security threats to the business are known.
Are you the ideal candidate?
- Recognised qualifications in Security Management at degree level or business management equivalent
- Professional functional security certification such as CSMP or ASIS CPP, PSP
- Extensive experience working as an international security manager with focus on the AMERICAS region
- Extensive experience addressing security risks/threats, compiling comprehensive and accurate reports and implementing approved mitigation measures in office settings, supply chains and industrial/manufacturing facilities
- Thorough knowledge of the design, implementation and management of integrated physical, technical and procedural security controls
- Experience in security of high value materials in a production and supply chain environment
- Strong Microsoft Office (or equivalent) skills
