Serve as the Programs & Administration Manager for the UCLA Luskin Center for History and Policy. Reporting directly to the Center Director and Chief Administrative Officer of the History Department, the incumbent is responsible for operations and management of the Luskin Center, as well as implementing all Center initiatives, activities, and long-term strategic development. Incumbent will organize workshops, lectures, conferences, and public outreach activities for the Luskin Center for History and Policy. Major duties include managing events as well as developing, implementing, and managing the Center’s communication strategy and overseeing all print, electronic, and web communications for the Center. Create, research and write Center announcements, brochures, flyers, press releases, program descriptions, reports, and other correspondence. In addition, the incumbent will work with Center Director to develop long-range research and outreach initiatives.

In collaboration with the Director, the incumbent will assist with development and

fundraising activities. Incumbent will contribute to developing grant proposals to generate funding streams. In addition, the Programs & Administration Manager will set priorities and manage work flow to fulfill objectives and meet goals.

The Programs & Administration Manager will manage and maintain all website, publicity, and social media related to the Center for History and Policy; design and develop outreach initiatives engaging students, faculty, and scholars. The incumbent will manage the Center’s day to day budget in order to meet budgetary goals under the purview of the History Department CAO and in consultation with the History Department Senior Fund Manager.

College Degree with at least three years of demonstrated writing and editing experience for print, broadcast and web based media, including researching and composing articles for newsletters, press releases and websites. Advanced degree preferred.

Skill in budget preparation, analyzing financial data, and making financial recommendations for budget planning, financial and decision making. Skill in establishing and negotiating budgets for publications, acting as liaison and with graphic designers, printers and independent contractors. Skill in selecting and negotiating with a variety of vendors.
