Description
Primary Function of Position:
The Sr. Marketing Manager – Society Marketing will report directly to the Group Marketing Manager – Society Marketing. This individual will help lead a cross-functional Sales / Marketing / Training team specifically focused on building alignment with surgical societies in creating robust da Vinci Fellowship & Residency training and early practice surgeon programs.
The position requires an individual with a proven track record of executive presentation and communication skills, project and time management, and is capable of working effectively in a results-driven environment. Attention to detail, creativity in problem solving, and a vision for where things could go are hallmarks for success.
Work is based in the Sunnyvale office and/or Atlanta Office, although regular (40-50%) travel is expected.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Execute the US academic strategy and calendar of marketing and training events.
- Lead and coordinate society and regional activities across sales, key customer, marketing, and training
- Create detailed and measureable residency and fellowship training plans/programs that derive results
o Drive adoption of curricula across selected academic sites
o Segment programs within specialties to create appropriately-tiered activities and programs
o Create turn-key programs which can be easily understood and implemented by academic institutions regardless of surgical specialty
- Develop surgeon-led and other types of courses for surgeons at academic institutions
- Plan and deliver marketing campaigns across a range of media (email, webinars, presentations, podcasts, etc.)
- Track and analyze marketing campaigns, and communicate results that inform decision-making and future strategy
- Develop internal and external-facing presentations, training curricula, sales tools, and SOPs
- Work with academic key opinion leaders, which may also include clinical societies, to build specialized training programs designed to educate and support customers’ development of da Vinci system technology skills
- Work cross-functionally with the clinical & product education team to develop effective training content
- Coordinate with customer training team to ensure training support is properly allocated to meet academic specialized training program needs
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience a medical device company in either Training or Marketing
- B.A. / B.S. Degree in Clinical or Health Sciences, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Communications, Education
- Proven ability to work as a team member to achieve production goals
- Creative problem solving and an ability to articulate a vision for a program
- Cross-functional leadership skills are required; the ability to influence non-direct reports to achieve program and project goals
- Occasional extensive travel, and flexible work hours are routine and expected in this position
- Excellent communication skills regarding project status, and ability to anticipate and overcome roadblocks to success
- Passionate about attention-to-detail and quality
- Demonstrated ability to work with KOLs in a program development or teaching capacity
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical disease states, surgical applications and operating room environment
- Knowledge of adult learning principles preferred
