Nuveen is looking for a head of Internal Communications to drive content globally and execute internal communications strategies with a focus on improving employee engagement for the firm. As a key member of the Corporate Communications team, they will partner with internal stakeholders including the firmâs leadership team, affiliates and TIAA partners across Marketing, Investments, Strategy, HR, Recruiting, Technology, Legal and Compliance, to drive creative and strategic narratives and engaging content aligned with business priorities, our values and culture. A successful candidate will have fluency with new and emerging communications tools, strategies, techniques and a track record of operating in a dynamic and constantly changing global business environment. As a strong writer, creative thinker and collaborator, this role will develop standards of excellence for our internal communications strategy, ensuring our messaging is clear and consistent, uncovering great stories to tell and drive Nuveen forward as an employer brand.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Build and execute a sophisticated internal communications program that evolves alongside our firm; define and implement internal communications channels and best practices using creative methods for engaging audiences at all levels
- Provide senior counsel to Nuveen’s senior leaders and its affiliates, HR partners at Nuveen and TIAA on messaging and employee engagement
- Write/produce and edit communications content (intranet stories, emails, video scripts, etc.)
- Calendar and track status of deliverables; measure impact of communication
- Ensure that all relevant employee communication is delivered in a way that is timely, accurate and on brand
- Support other employee communications initiatives based on business and resource needs
Qualifications
- 12-15+ years of experience working in-house in internal/employee communications in various industries and disciplines, such as organizational, change, employer brand and social media management, crisis, and executive communications
- Strategic thinker with project, time, and relationship management skills
- Demonstration of how thoughtful and creative communications strategies can impact employee behavior
- Strong track record of partnership with cross functional teams
- Strong writing skills
- The ideal candidate will have a track record of having implemented multiple employee communications campaigns that are creative, fun and engaging, while demonstrating high value business results
- New York or Chicago based is preferred
