Job Description:
As Head of Business Analysis and User Experience (BAUX) you will drive NIBR-wide strategic UX solutions and initiatives for end user facing software applications in a scientific informatics organization, and you will define and implement outstanding business analysis practices. You will be responsible for creating an overarching vision and design strategy tightly integrated with and supporting the product organization in NIBR Informatics and the NIBR mission and vision. This will be comprised of UI design, user research, and business analysis. You will build and manage excellent teams delivering these capabilities in our matrixed product organization, provide thought leadership in these areas, and develop all members of your team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Mentor and grow a team of UX Designers and UX Researchers with a focus on building powerful, functional, beautiful and fully integrated solutions
- Mentor and grow a team of Business Analysts whose domain knowledge results in outstanding functionality in scientific and IT applications
- Drive a user-centered design culture, innovation, and process improvements throughout the organization
- Be a champion and evangelist for BAUX disciplines and for the team
- Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to build strong collaborations and help formulate strategic product direction
- Build strongly collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams to help launch new products, features, and services
- Prioritize and help to guide the work of the team

Minimum requirements
- Bachelorâs degree
- Minimum 10 years of experience designing impactful product user experiences
- Three (3) or more years managing a BA or UX team in an Agile or Lean environment
- Experience in Design Thinking, Agile, UCD and Lean methodologies
- Proven experience in team building and mentoring
- Expertise in web UX patterns, best practices, new technologies and approaches
- Experience performing business analysis for scientific or technical software
- Experience using analytics, user research and other approaches to help make decisions and iterate on the product
- Portfolio demonstrating extensive experience solving complex UX problems and delivering impactful solutions in data analysis or reporting
- Experience in a drug discovery or scientific research setting a plus

- A passion for user-centered design, elegant visual design aesthetic, and a focus on usability to build systems that are powerful, functional, usable, and beautiful.
