Position: Head of US Broker Relations
Reporting to: Head of Field
Location: New York, White Plains, Atlanta or Chicago
Travel: 40-50%
The Head of US Broker Relations is a highly visible role responsible for developing and managing relationships with regional and national wholesale and retail brokers. This role will work closely with the Head of Field to implement and execute broker strategies as well as work with Regional Executives to seek out new broker relationships, business opportunities and alternative revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities:
Relationship Management
- Develop and manage relationships with carrier management departments and senior leaders at regional and national wholesale and retail brokerages in the United States with the goal of improving profitable growth and the quality and quantity of business opportunities.
- Identify, assess, clarify and validate broker needs for new products and services.
- Lead joint Hiscox/broker strategic account planning for the regional and national wholesale and retail brokerages.
- Develop mutual performance objectives, financial targets and critical milestones.
New Business Development
- Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities from the regional and national wholesale and retail partner broker network to support Hiscox regional teams and Alternative Distribution.
- Partner with Regional Executives to contribute to the overall regional business strategies.
Agency Management
- Lead the Agency Management function in order to develop, implement and execute the Hiscox USA Agency strategy. Work closely with the Legal and Compliance teams to develop terms of business agreements, performance metrics and commission agreements among many other operational needs.
- Drive the broker mapping process with a focus on highlighting success and identifying areas where change is recommended.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 8-10 years progressive experience in multiple facets of broker/client management in an underwriting environment.
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and strong problem solving skills.
- Proven client management skills a must.
- Must demonstrate the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and internal business partners.
- Demonstrated management experience with a focus on customer service.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work well within a team. Able to interact and create positive working relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant business skill.
