Department Overview

PG&E’s Information Technology (IT) organization is comprised of various unified departments which collaborate effectively in order to deliver high quality technology solutions.

The Digital Catalyst Team within IT is responsible for working collaboratively with the lines of business (e.g., Gas Operations, Electric Operations, etc.) to implement consumer grade mobile and web solutions across various user groups (e.g., field users, office workers, etc.). This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Deploying best-in-class / rapid delivery capability for mobile and web solutions
  • Simplifying, improving, and standardizing business work management processes through application of user-centric design thinking principles
  • Rapid delivery of mobile and web applications

Digital Catalyst consists of a staff of highly skilled professionals working together following an agile methodology and design thinking. We are a “start-up” department within IT and building driven and creative engineering team. We take the time to understand our partners’ needs and translate those into solutions that delight our users. Our goal is to deliver products with intuitive user experience that will improve PG&E employees’ and customer’s safety, productivity and overall well-being.


Position Summary

We are looking for an Agile Scrum Master to be part of our team. Your primary focus will be to coach the scrum team and guide them to successful outcomes. You will work closely with the Product Owner to maintain a rich product backlog. You will then guide the team to deliver the prioritized features, keeping in mind quality and delivery predictability. The role will entail working closely with product owner, design team and other shared services teams such as the platform engineering team to drive successful delivery of mobile and web applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide product team(s) to deliver high quality features in a timely manner
  • Develop sprint plans and execute them
  • Coordinate with shared services teams to manage dependencies and remove blockers
  • Facilitate the sprint mechanics
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members in order to improve the team’s Agile and Scrum maturity
  • Drive effective retrospectives to continuously improve delivery quality and team health
  • Fosters teamwork, and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.


Qualification
:

Minimum:

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Minimum 5 years of job-related experience leading project/product delivery in a large enterprise

Desired:

  • Knowledge of Agile software development principles, values, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques as needed to perform at the job level
  • Understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and the role of the Release Train Engineer (RTE)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • ASM-Agile Scrum Master Certification
  • SAFe Certification(s)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Scrum Master in an Agile product delivery environment
  • Experience with SAFe and the RTE role
  • Competency in building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to influence and lead behavior change

  • Competency in applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization goals
