JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for the audience and business growth of NationalGeographic.com and the Nat Geo app. Many groups contribute to the success of Nat Geo owned and operated properties and this role will be tasked with organizing those efforts and creating a long-term strategy for success. This role will also closely align with National Geographic’s subscription strategy and acquisition teams to grow loyal fans of Nat Geo across our owned and operated properties.

Candidates for this role should have a wide understanding of how digital media companies are growing their business and fans across a variety of platforms in 2020. The ability to work across a variety of teams and business units will be a key part of success in this role, as well as specific experience in a variety of digital media roles: analytics, content publishing, social media, subscription growth; app strategy; third party partnerships.

National Geographic has an amazing social media footprint and this role will be focused on bringing our owned and operated properties to that same level of success and beyond.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking a holistic look at the Nat Geo digital audience, employing SEO, social media and other tactics to grow loyal visitors to our web site and app.
  • Partnering with Marketing and acquisition teams on the latest strategies and tactics to drive subscriptions to National Geographic.
  • Regular recommendations and meetings with product teams to address traffic issues and opportunities.

Requirements:

  • At least 8 years in digital media with a focus on SEO.
  • Google Analytics/Adobe Omniture, SEO tools, Slack, Google Search Console, basic spreadsheet skills.
