Moffatt & Nichol is looking for a Civil Engineer- Structural/Civil – Project Manager to join our Walnut Creek office. The right candidate will be a member of an integrated design team, and be responsible for coordinating civil design along with other disciplines, to meet project schedules and budgets, while working directly with other licensed Engineers and Principals.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare design documents for waterfront development projects including shoreline improvement structures (bulkheads, riprap protection, etc.), docks, piers, outfalls, stormwater management, erosion control, ADA accessibility, utilities, and other infrastructure systems).
- Calculations, reports, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications.
- Analyze and evaluate design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Write clear, concise, and accurate technical and non-technical reports, correspondence, memorandums, and specifications.
- Communicate effectively both internally with project staff and externally with clients.
- Learn and apply established principles and practices of civil engineering.
- Exercise sound independent judgment within general policy guidelines.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of duties and to work as a team.
- Work under deadlines and coordinate several concurrent assignments.
- Work with minimum supervision
- Communicate both orally and in writing

Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in the Civil Engineering industry
- At least 1-2 years of Project Management experience
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering; Transportation emphasis preferred
- PE Required
- AutoCAD (Civil3D preferred), CSI Specifications, Cost Estimates
