Exercise leadership and management responsibility over all functions within assigned management portfolio ensuring efficient services that are designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, the public, and staff within a DUHS Institute/Center/Facility(s)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and foster effective collaboration between clinical departments and other affiliated services to ensure an integrated approach to providing services, and fulfilling our clinical, strategic, research, and educational goals and objectives.
Function as an effective liaison and intermediary between Nursing Administration, DUHS Administration, and the various clinical departments who are primary stakeholders.
Develop new business strategies to enhance market share and improve overall performance.
Work with Leadership teams throughout the facilities, serving as a resource to reduce costs, enhance revenues, achieve effective utilization and quality goals and objectives, analyze and utilize information to develop and support management decisions. In general, coordinate the delivery of clinical care in conjunction with the Chief of Ambulatory Surgery, Chief of Ambulatory Anesthesia, and AVP Nursing – Perioperative Services, among others.
Communicate key information to the stakeholders of areas of responsibility with respect to payors, marketplace needs, the competitive environment, cost management, and patient-centered programs and services.
Lead and support key committees pertaining to areas of responsibility.
Contribute to the plan for and oversee any renovations in the area of responsibility.
Coordinate the determination of fiscal requirements of areas of responsibility and review budgetary recommendations (capital and operating): monitor, verify, and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds.
Ambulatory Surgery Center Specific:Summary:
Provides leadership, establishes strategic direction and directs the operations of system-wide Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Works to build enterprise wide outpatient growth strategies and, once developed, be responsible for the implementation/execution of those growth initiatives. Responsibilities will include opening new surgery centers, facility design, and operations/patient workflow development. Responsible for operational excellence, growth imperatives, care innovations, compliance and regulatory oversight, and patient experience protocols. Will be proficient in the application of AAAHC, The Joint Commission, CMS, compliance, insurance reimbursement requirements, employee management, healthcare financial reporting, service line expansion and strategic planning.
Skills and Competencies:
Ability to lead multiple Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) and solve complex problems.
Proven ability to oversee large operational and capital budgets.
Demonstrated skills in finance/budgeting, computer applications, human resource management application, customer service and marketing, demonstrated ongoing commitment to continuous professional growth, development and excellence required.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with physicians, ASC staff, patients and vendors.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with nursing personnel, physicians, and other Allied health professionals.
Experience in clinical and procedural service planning and modeling for a complex, multi-dimensional organization.
Proven ability to gain credibility and partner effectively with medical staff to achieve desired facility-specific and organizational outcomes. Proven experience and track record of success in leading the operations for a large, complex enterprise.
Proficient knowledge of the purposes, organization and policies of the healthcare industry to enable effective interactions with other health providers.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee development to ensure organization productivity. Proven track record developing and motivating managers and staff to achieve strategic objectives and maintain accountability. Ability to achieve results “managing managers”.
Demonstrated track record of leadership at a time of change, including start up and creation of cultural change.
Track record of developing systems and processes to support effective and efficient clinical and procedural service planning, management, and decision-making.
Collaborative approach with executive leadership, and the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams to meet goals and improve organizational performance.
Proven analytical capabilities including planning, forecasting, modeling, and data analysis.
Proven track record of maintaining the highest standards of performance, quality, credibility, and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Work requires a Master’s degree in a related field; or equivalent experience.
Experience: Work requires a minimum of 5 years experience in responsible hospital operations including at least three years at the administrative leadership level. Previous Ambulatory Perioperative Services experience highly preferred.
